Within the ACT Public Service, the Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate (EPSDD) vision is 'shaping Canberra's future' and our mission is to be informed, connected, innovative.
EPSDD is responsible for a wide range of policies and programs that include areas as diverse as climate change policy, energy policy, nature conservation, environment protection policy, strategic and statutory planning, development approvals, building policy, land policy and economics, heritage and water. EPSDD also includes the ACT Parks and Conservation Service which manages nature reserves, national parks, commercial softwood forests and rural lands to ensure Canberra provides open and safe space to its community.
In addition, EPSDD provides corporate and governance support for the Suburban Land Agency and the City Renewal Authority.

People interested in temporary employment, who have skills in architecture, design, planning, compliance, building, leasing, administration, surveying or customer services, are invited to submit their resume for placement on the temporary employment register.
The Register is used to select staff for temporary, short term engagements or for special projects on either a full or part time basis. Selection of applicants for employment is made based on merit.

The ACTPS Graduate Program is a whole of government full-time program that runs for ten months.
Graduates get to be part of a unique jurisdiction, handling both state and municipal responsibilities ranging from planning and environment, municipal and emergency services, health, education and justice systems, to supporting the most vulnerable people in our community.
ACTPS enterprise agreements are made under the Fair Work Act 2009.
ACTPS enterprise agreements consist of common terms that apply to all employees in the ACTPS and other terms that typically apply to specific groups of employees or a particular agency.
