In 2021, The ACT Government engaged a third party to undertake a preliminary investigations to inform ACT Government considerations relating to land use, planning, infrastructure provision, land release and commercial opportunities for future development that will benefit from rapid transit in the light rail stage 2B corridor.

The report was commissioned by the ACT Government in-part to meet objective 1.1.3 of The Planning Strategy 2018: Undertake preliminary land use investigations for the potential City to Woden light rail line to determine the opportunities for urban intensification afforded by increased transport accessibility.
