Surveyor reference material

This collection of publications provides historical and technical insights into geodesy, land surveying, and spatial data management in the ACT. Topics include control surveys, cadastral systems, metrication, digital cadastral databases, and modernisation of surveying practices. Many of these papers and documents were written by OSGLI and its predecessors. The materials are available from ACT Government Land Information Directory.

Other state and national organisations

Board of Surveying and Spatial Information NSW (BOSSI)
BOSSI is responsible for the registration of surveyors in NSW and investigating complaints against registered surveyors.

Geoscience Australia
Geoscience Australia is Australia's pre-eminent public sector geoscience organisation, and is the national focal point for coordination of geodetic information and data, and maintains a national network of geodetic observatories which forms part of a global observatory network.

National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA)
NATA is Australia's national accreditation body.

National Measurement Institute (NMI)
NMI is Australia's national authority on measurement and is responsible for maintaining measurement standards and regulating measurement systems.

NSW Spatial Services
NSW Spatial Services, a division of the Department of Customer Service, provides spatial and land information services to spatial professionals and the general community in NSW.

Queensland Spatial and Surveying Association
The Queensland Surveying and Surveying Association represents spatial and surveying professionals in Queensland.

Surveyors Australia
Surveyors Australia is the peak industry body, promoting the profession of surveying and representing and supporting the interest of surveying consultancies through relevant training and connection to build business acumen.

Surveyors Board of South Australia
The Surveyors Board of South Australia is a sub-committee of the SA Division of the Institution of Surveyors responsible for the training and conduct of surveyors in SA.

The Association of Consulting Surveyors NSW
The Association of Consulting Surveyors NSW vision is to see thriving consulting surveyor businesses in every region and city across New South Wales where surveyors are recognised for underpinning the value of the economy.

The Association of Public Authority Surveyors NSW
APAS is a non-profit organisation whose purpose is to bring together surveyors and closely allied spatial information professionals employed by Public Authorities in both NSW and the ACT.

The Institution of Surveyors NSW
The Institution of Surveyors NSW represents land, engineering and mining surveyors in NSW.

The Institution of Surveyors Victoria
The Institution of Surveyors Victoria is a state body created to achieve uniformity of practice amongst Victorian surveyors.

The Intergovernmental Committee on Surveying and Mapping (ICSM)
Established in 1988 by the Prime Minister, State Premiers and Chief Minister of the Northern Territory, this body coordinates national spatial data.

Western Australian Institution of Surveyors
The Western Australian Institution of Surveyors represents surveyors of Western Australia.
